Role Description

  • Crypto Services and Governance is part of the Cryptography Engineering & Solutions Tribe, with central cryptography responsibility for Deutsche Bank Group. The services which we provide cover 24x7 crypto IT operations support and maintenance of specialized crypto solutions which fit into Deutsche Bank’s IT infrastructure. We assist Deutsche Bank IT staff with guidance needed to operate cryptography in an effective and secure way.
  • In tight collaboration with our stakeholders and clients, we develop and maintain solutions to cover the wide area of cryptography governance with means of automation and data science.
  • The newly established Cryptography Inventory provides an up-to-date overview on cryptography used in Deutsche Bank. This inventory discovers and gathers information of cryptography and connects it with IT application usage. This function is essential to manage cryptography implementations and configurations in an agile way, which is crucial to face upcoming challenges like “Post Quantum Cryptography” and sudden threats.

Your key responsibilities

As an Engineer in Crypto Services and Governance, you will be working on the following topics:

  • maintenance and optimization of existing processes for data retrieval and assessment,
  • development of business logic for evaluation of gathered information related to cryptography,
  • coordination with various stakeholders for improvements or any data related topics,
  • monitoring and ensuring the correctness of incompliance reports generated on a regular basis.

Your skills and experience

  • Good and proven skills in at least one programming language (e.g., Python),
  • basic knowledge in network security.
  • Experience in at least one operating system like Linux, Windows Servers, Microsoft Active Directory and Active Directory Certification Services,
  • Desired: experience in data analysis and reporting (e.g. Key Performance Indicators),
  • an open mind willing to learn new concepts related to IT Security / cryptography,
  • experience working with Agile development technologies,
  • good interpersonal and communication skills with proficiency in English,
  • an ability to work well in diverse teams as well as self-sufficiently (depending on the nature of the task) on assigned problems.
