Overview

As the HR Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the people strategy for Corporate Bank (CB) and Investment Bank (IB) Operations & Controls divisions in India, and drive HR initiatives to support business objectives. You will partner closely with senior leadership to provide both strategic and operational HR leadership for the identified divisions in the country.

Your key responsibilities

  • Implementation of HRs people strategy in partnership with Global, Divisional and Regional HR leadership
  • Provide HR functional leadership by fostering strong partnership, collaboration and engagement with the broader HR function, including regional and global stakeholders across business partner, product, country teams and process owners to deliver relevant HR solutions
  • Establish strong HR business partnerships by building trusted advisor relationships with regional and local stakeholders, providing independent HR guidance and advice, and taking ownership and accountability for all HR delivery and activities in India
  • Strengthen leadership effectiveness and build a robust talent pipeline for key senior roles in India
  • Create a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement and retention
  • Drive global HR processes such as year-end compensation and promotion cycles and talent management, ensuring fair and consistent decisions with appropriate business management governance and ownership
  • Use key qualitative and quantitative metrics to inform decision-making and HR strategies
  • Implement diversity initiatives to raise awareness and improve gender diversity and inclusion
  • Participate in senior leadership team meetings, consulting on HR topics including leadership, policies and practices, diversity and inclusion, and talent management
  • Provide people leadership by fostering an inclusive culture of continuous learning and feedback, sharing best practices, and actively supporting the development of the HR team

Your skills and experience

  • MBA (HR) with a minimum of 10+ years of HR domain experience, including strong knowledge of HR policies, products and processes
  • At least 35 years of experience within the Banking sector
  • Excellent stakeholder management, relationship-building and communication skills
  • Experience working in a complex, multicultural, matrix organisation
  • Ability to operate independently and objectively to achieve the right people outcomes for the franchise
  • Solutions-oriented with an innovative mindset
  • Strong HR background with demonstrable business acumen and commercial understanding
  • Comfortable presenting to senior management groups, with the ability to produce concise, data-backed presentations and conduct necessary research and inquiry
