Are you an experienced data scientist with an interest in contributing to the prevention of fraud and mitigating its impact on our clients and the bank? 

Join our Payment and Corporate Investment Fraud Strategy team, part of Fraud Risk Management, a vital unit at Danske Bank focused on preventing Fraud. Fraud Risk Management is part of the 1st Line Financial Crime, and we have a close collaboration with colleagues focusing on other areas of financial crime prevention.

We operate with a layered approach to fraud prevention, and our scope for continuously improving capabilities spans broadly. Our focus includes fraud awareness communication and internal advice on risk mitigation, application of preventative initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders across the bank, exploring opportunities for enhancing detection capabilities, implementation of technical solutions with the bank s development tribes, and monitoring developments in regulatory requirements relevant to fraud and external collaboration with authorities and other financial institutions.

Data is fundamental for the clarity and understanding of developments in fraud and risk exposures, and essential for the design and implementation of effective preventative controls.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Data Scientist to contribute to this work. In this role, you will be part of an international team, working together to deliver high-quality results while promoting a culture of openness, teamwork and shared responsibility.

You will:

  • Contribute to the strategic development of the banks capabilities within payment and investment fraud prevention
  • Perform analytical tasks, including extracting, transforming and interpreting data, related to the initiatives the team is working on
  • Work with stakeholders on fraud prevention related to e.g. the screening of new payment types
  • Contribute to the definition of new initiatives for implementation, based on a solid understanding of data, evolving risk exposures and requirements
  • Document requirements for initiatives and identify their impact on related processes and required changes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on the prioritisation and implementation of initiatives, ensuring the expected impact
  • Act as an advisor to stakeholders on the design and improvement of risk mitigating controls and processes
  • Mentor colleagues in data extractions and analysis, sharing your knowledge and experience in data science and related areas
  • Communicate with non-technical stakeholders, distilling complex concepts into clear, accessible language to support the banks business

 

About you:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, with strong Python and SQL skills
  • Experience with Financial Crime Prevention, including knowledge of regulatory requirements to banks within this field will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of payment scheme rulebooks, payment services regulations, ISO 20022, new payment rails, and related requirements to fraud prevention will be beneficial
  • Higher education in a quantitative discipline (e.g. in economics, mathematics, physics, engineering or statistics)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborative, self-driven and team oriented
  • Highly structured and attentive to detail 
  • Advanced English language skills

     

We offer:

This position can be located both in Lithuania and Poland. If you are hired in Lithuania, the applicable salary range will be from 3600 to 5400 EUR monthly (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
