As a Senior Data Engineer, you will become a vital member of the Credit Data Solutions Squad within the Risk and Compliance Tribe. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to design and develop data solutions that are crucial for facilitating data-driven credit risk insights and reporting. The squad plays a pivotal role in managing and delivering data through our Data Warehouse, thereby supporting the organisation's analytical and decision-making capabilities.
Additionally, you will be part of the Data Engineers chapter, a community of highly skilled engineers who share your interest in data and technology. The chapter promotes continuous learning and knowledge sharing, ensuring best practices are disseminated across the tribe and organisation.
You will:
- Design, develop, and implement end-to-end data solutions.
- Build and maintain data pipelines for business intelligence, decision modelling, and risk management.
- Drive optimization and automation of existing data flows and processes.
- Collaborate with fellow Data Engineers to create a reliable, robust, and accessible risk data repository.
- Consult with engineers, data scientists, and analysts across the bank on risk data-related questions.
- Actively participate in agile teams, driving transformation and advancing risk management practices.
- Ensure data solutions comply with governance frameworks and support accountability.
- Share knowledge and promote best practices within the Data Engineers chapter.
About you:
- 5+ years as a Data Engineer or in a similar senior role, with deep expertise in ETL, data modelling, and SDLC.
- Advanced SQL skills (T-SQL/PL-SQL).
- Advanced Python and PySpark experience, with a proven track record of building robust and scalable solutions.
- Demonstrated experience with Databricks or AWS (certification preferred).
- Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), e.g., Terraform.
- Deep expertise in CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment best practices for data engineering.
- Experience mentoring and guiding junior colleagues.
- Skilled at understanding both high-level data flows and detailed technical dependencies.
- Excellent communicator in English, able to explain IT concepts to non-technical colleagues.
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.
- Genuine interest in risk management.
