Full Job Description

Location: Copenhagen V, Denmark

AI agents are reshaping how financial services work. Not as features bolted onto existing software, but as autonomous systems that read, reason, decide, and act, constrained by well-designed evaluation harnesses and strategic human-in-the-loop controls. Danske Bank is already deploying them across the bank, and GenAI Innovation & Foundation is the central area making it happen. At the core of how every agent gets built, evaluated, and pushed to production sits the Agent Development Lifecycle (ADLC), owned by Solutions & Governance (S&G).

The ADLC is not a compliance layer. It is an engineering framework designed around one conviction: the fastest path to production should also be the safest. Evaluations-first design, lightweight gates, clear phases, and the right people at the right time. Every agent at Danske Bank passes through this framework. That makes it one of the most consequential pieces of methodology in the banks AI strategy.

As GenAI Lifecycle Lead, you will own how it runs. You will manage gates, set evaluation standards, and coordinate the flow of people and artifacts from first experiment to live agent. You will sit with delivery squads, feel where the framework creates drag, and fix it. You will drive the ADLCs evolution from a structured process into an agent-first, spec-driven system that keeps pace with a technology moving faster than any governance model was designed for.

This is a cross-cutting role. You will work with developers, solution architects, business owners, domain leads, the Architecture Chapter, and the Responsible AI function. You will report to the Head of S&G and operate across the full bank portfolio. The scope is wide, the visibility is high, and the decisions you make will directly shape how Danske Bank builds and governs AI agents for years to come.

*The role is based in Copenhagen.
*Danske Bank supports workplace flexibility (we currently use a hybrid work model, where you will have a chance to work up to 2 days per week at home).

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of the Agent Development Lifecycle (ADLC) across all active builds, managing gate certifications to ensure squads progress efficiently with clear exit criteria and lightweight evidence packages.
  • Establish and uphold the evaluation framework as the foundation of every agent build, defining standards for accuracy, regression testing, cost-performance, safety checks, and human-in-the-loop assessments. Ensure evaluations are integrated from the Plan phase through Build and beyond.
  • Continuously improve the ADLC by gathering squad feedback, identifying friction points, proposing updates, and managing versioning to reflect real delivery experiences.
  • Define and manage lifecycle artifacts, including formats and detail levels, ensuring timely involvement of experts such as solution architects, Responsible AI, data science, cloud, and domain SMEs.
  • Advance the ADLC towards agent-first workflows, enabling agents to consume structured specifications for gate criteria and artifact templates in collaboration with Architecture and platform teams.
  • Act as the operational interface with Responsible AI, coordinating assessments at lifecycle gates to make responsible AI a seamless part of the process.
  • Measure and report on lifecycle performance, tracking time-to-deployment, gate pass rates, rework cycles, and bottlenecks to align the fastest path with the best outcomes.

About you:

  • 5+ years of experience as a product manager, delivery lead, or methodology owner where you were responsible for how teams build and ship. The domain matters less than the discipline.
  • A structured thinker who can analyse messy processes, pinpoint breakdowns, redesign workflows, and drive adoption seamlessly without enforcement.
  • Strong documentation and process design skills. Able to create clear, self-explanatory guidelines and templates for squads.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple workstreams with technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring timely involvement without over-relying on meetings.
  • Comfortable operating with significant autonomy. The S&G function is lean, but the organisation around you is substantial. You need to be effective without close supervision.
  • Able to engage effectively with developers on technical topics like evaluation harnesses and with business stakeholders focused on delivery timelines, seamlessly navigating both environments daily.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and how it is changing software development. You do not need to be a practitioner, but you need to want to understand how agents work well enough to govern their lifecycle effectively.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with MLOps or LLMOps: model versioning, evaluation pipelines, deployment automation, production monitoring for AI systems. This background translates directly to running ADLC gates with real technical intuition about what matters at each stage.
  • Understanding of AI/ML evaluation methodology: what it means to test an agent, how regression suites work, what cost-performance benchmarking looks like. This is the single most valuable technical skill for this role.
  • Background in a Centre of Excellence, platform team, or cross-cutting technical function where your job was to make other teams faster rather than to ship your own product.

What We Offer:

  • An inclusive, collaborative environment with skilled colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Opportunities to shape next-generation banking services and customer engagement strategies.
  • Support for continuous learning, professional development, and career advancement.
  • A chance to make a lasting impact on the digital transformation of banking.
