Are you an experienced software engineer who values collaboration, innovation, and making a positive impact?

Would you like to combine your technical expertise with the opportunity to mentor and develop others? If yes, then you might be the Chapter Lead we are looking for to join our newly established squad in Lithuania.

The Digital Core Tribe consists of approximately 200 people across Denmark, Lithuania, and India, responsible for the core functionalities and data of accounts and customers in Danske Bank. Your squad focus on account product data and is part of the Lithuanian site community in Vilnius, which includes two additional co-located squads besides the one you will join.

In Digital Core we empower agile squads to make decisions and take ownership of their work while maintaining a supportive leadership structure. With strong skills and specialized knowledge, we aim to set high standards and take full ownership of our solutions.

About the role

As a Chapter Lead in Digital Core, you will split your time between engineering tasks (approximately 70%) and leadership responsibilities (approximately 30%) in an agile, forward-thinking environment by:

  • Contributing to development tasks: Take an active role as a senior or lead engineer within your squad, building and maintaining Java-based solutions, performing code reviews and debugging, writing tests and documentation, and collaborating with colleagues to design optimal solutions.
  • Leading and inspiring: Manage a group of skilled software engineers, supporting their professional and personal growth through mentoring, performance reviews, and goal setting.
  • Fostering collaboration: Work closely with the squads Product Owner to create an environment that encourages engagement, innovation, and experimentation.
  • Driving modernization: Co-lead the maintenance, design, and development of new and existing services in the squad.
  • Focusing on relationships: Collaborate with others outside your squad to deliver tasks, resolve issues, and foster cross-team collaboration.

You are the right fit if you:

  • Have demonstrated success in leading and aligning teams towards achieving common goals, fostering collaboration, and proactively resolving misunderstandings.
  • Possess a solid +5 years of software engineering background with hands-on Java experience (Spring Boot preferred).
  • Have experience with Infrastructure-as-a-code, event driven architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring and alerting practices.
  • Can participate in technical refinements and discussions ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Are curious about or have experience with emerging technologies such as AI.
  • Demonstrate fluency in English to ensure clear alignment across stakeholders, developers, and leadership.

Monthly salary range from 5760 EUR to 8640 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
