Join IRB Framework and contribute to improving our risk models at Danske Bank.
About the team
IRB Framework is part of Group Risk Analytics and is responsible for maintaining and operating Danske Banks Internal Ratings Based (IRB) models. Two dedicated teams cover the full suite of models: Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), Conversion Factors (CF) and Asset Valuation Models (AVM).
You will join an international team working across Copenhagen and Lithuania, collaborating closely to deliver high quality analytical and technical solutions in a complex regulatory environment. The team works with a mix of recurring processes and analytical and development projects, where senior judgement, initiative and technical depth are key.
About the role
We are looking for an Experienced Data Scientist with Python skills who can take end to end ownership of tasks covering both hands on development, business and stakeholder-oriented analysis, while also contributing to model maintenance, improving efficiency in monitoring processes, documentation and regulatory communication. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys a wide spectrum of tasks: from monthly controls to model changes, combining technical work with coordination, communication and responsibility.
We are seeking two new colleagues to join our organization, one for the DoD/PD team and one for the LGD/CF/AVM team.
You will:
Perform advanced analytical tasks, including extracting, transforming and interpreting data.
Rewrite and migrate existing processes and models from legacy technologies (e.g. SAS) to production grade Python, as well as develop and maintain new Python procedures.
Maintain and operate credit risk and property valuation models, including analysing and investigating incidents related to data, methodology and model behaviour.
Drive issues and improvements from problem identification through analysis, stakeholder dialogue and final implementation.
Communicate complex analytical and technical topics clearly to non technical stakeholders, including explaining model changes, assumptions and results.
Contribute to regulatory material and dialogue, including documentation and explanations of model changes towards internal governance and external authorities.
Mentor junior colleagues and sharing your technical, analytical and domain knowledge to improve the team overall.
About you
Have 5+ years of experience from a similar senior analytical, data science or business facing role.
Are comfortable working directly with Python, and can read, adapt and refactor existing code; experience with SQL is expected.
Hold a higher education degree in a quantitative field (e.g. economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering or physics).
Demonstrate the motivation to take initiative and drive complex tasks involving multiple stakeholders.
Communicate clearly and effectively and are able to translate complex technical topics into accessible insights.
Are collaborative, organized and motivated by shared ownership and responsibility.
Have experience with credit risk models, property valuation models or banking / regulated environments, which is beneficial, as the role operates within strong governance and regulatory frameworks (but this is not a strict requirement).
Are fluent in English, both spoken and written.
The position is based in Vilnius, Lithuania. We support workplace flexibility through a hybrid model, with at least three days per week in the office. Please note that this role does not include a relocation allowance.
