Job description
Compass Lexecon seeks recent graduates with quantitative backgrounds for a Research Analyst role in economic consulting. Candidates will work on high-profile competition and merger cases, analyzing complex economic data and supporting expert advisory teams in understanding market dynamics and competitive impacts.
Research Analysts will be integral project team members providing critical competitive impact analysis for mergers and business conduct. Primary responsibilities include deep data analysis of customer, price, cost, and market share information, researching inter-firm competition, identifying key decision-making variables, and summarizing industry facts comprehensively.
Ideal candidates possess an undergraduate degree in economics, microeconomics, industrial organization, or quantitative fields like computer science, mathematics, or statistics. Strong analytical skills, exceptional organizational abilities, multi-tasking capabilities, effective communication, precision, independence, and teamwork are essential. Proficiency in Stata and Excel is desirable, with English fluency mandatory.
Compass Lexecon offers a competitive compensation package, featuring challenging international projects, collaboration with top law firms and corporations, a supportive learning environment, and potential sponsorship for postgraduate studies. The role provides an exceptional opportunity for recent graduates to gain significant professional experience in economic consulting before potentially pursuing advanced academic studies.
