Full Job Description
We are seeking a Legal Tech Product Manager to work as part of the Legal Tech Team at CMS. The Legal Tech Product Managers support with the adoption of our Legal Tech tools, spearheading our commitment to being a future facing firm, using best in practice tools to support our colleagues and better serve our clients. The Legal Tech Product Manager role combines product ownership with business transformation, with a strong focus on building adoption models to help the business move towards consistent and effective use.
About the role
You will work alongside other Legal Tech Product Managers, Solution Engineers and Legal Technologists on our Legal Tech Team, the wider Innovation team and Practice Groups.
In this role, you can expect to get involved in a variety of work including:
Lead the adoption strategy required to embed our Legal Tech platforms into business-as-usual workflows, responsibilities include:
Own the vision, roadmap and objectives for assigned Legal Tech platform(s), defining clear success metrics and adoption goals.
Drive firm wide and Practice Group specific adoption strategies, that go beyond training sessions, including self-service materials, support models, and role based enablement approaches.
Make use of data to drive adoption, demonstrate return on investment and inform decision making.
Actively gather user feedback and continuously iterate on how tools are positioned and used.
Manage supplier relationships for assigned platforms, including roadmap input, issue management and service reviews.
Work with Senior Product Manager(s) on supplier negotiations and contract renewals
Ensure platforms are onboarded and operated in line with Infosec, Risk, and data protection requirements.
Collaborate with the Legal Tech Delivery team to ensure the business receives the necessary support to effectively implement our Legal Tech Tools on their matters
Support pilots, proofs of concept and controlled rollouts of new capabilities, including generative AI features, in collaboration with Infosec and IT.
This role will be aligned to our Real Estate Practice Groups. As Practice Group Liaison, responsibilities include:
Build Legal Tech presence within the Practice Group by understanding their key work types.
Support Practice Groups in identifying where Legal Tech can enhance existing workflows or enable new work types.
Understanding use cases/ work-types of the Practice Group to design custom adoption activities aligned to their needs
Collaborate closely with the Practice Group to help them achieve their innovation strategy alongside wider Innovation team
Lead Legal Tech training sessions for aligned Practice Groups
Host scoping meetings with people across the Practice Group to discuss application of legal tech on matter delivery alongside the Legal Tech Delivery team and the Legal Ops & Project Management team.
Work and be a part of an agile Product Management team, including the creation and management of assigned tool backlog.
Client facing role, support on the following activities:
Client facing training sessions including e-learning opportunities, webinars or roundtables.
Responding to client requests for proposal (RFPs)
Creation of word documents or PowerPoint decks to outline Legal Tech & Innovation initiatives at CMS support winning new work alongside Business Development team
Attend client meetings alongside colleagues across the business, leading on discussion around Legal Tech at CMS
Keep abreast of any market changes and new tools within the space, working with the wider Legal Tech Product Team to consider for testing and piloting internally.
Participate in pitches, panel responses and client conversations where Legal Tech capability is a differentiator.
About you

A minimum of 5 years proven experience in change management, legal technology or innovation within the legal sector or another professional services environment.
Experience practising as a Real Estate solicitor is desirable but not essential.
Strong people leadership and stakeholder engagement experience, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on operational delivery.
Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments would be a plus.
Confident communicator, able to present, train and explain complex tools.
Experience with project scoping is a must.
Solution oriented, problem solver and self-starter mindset.
Able to adapt and navigate a disruptive and changeable market.
