Full Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and capable junior lawyer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with 12 years' post-qualification experience who is looking to develop a broad and intellectually stimulating practice spanning both advisory and contentious regulatory work.

The successful candidate will work across a varied caseload, providing pragmatic, commercially aware legal advice to clients operating in highly regulated sectors.

About the role

The role encompasses a wide range of work, including the following areas:

Transactional Advisory Work. You will advise on regulatory aspects of transactional work, helping clients to identify and manage legal risk in the context of mergers and acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, amongst others. This will involve conducting due diligence, drafting and negotiating contractual provisions, and providing clear, solution-oriented guidance on regulatory implications.

Contentious Regulatory Work. A significant element of the role involves contentious matters, including defending and prosecuting cases in the areas of environmental law and health and safety. You will assist with all stages of enforcement proceedings, from investigation through to trial, and will be expected to develop strong case management skills.

Fire Safety. You will assist in providing specialist advice on fire safety obligations, assisting clients in understanding and complying with the regulatory framework governing fire risk assessment, building safety, and enforcement action by the relevant authorities.

Product Compliance. You will assist the team in advising our clients as manufacturers, importers, and distributors on product safety and compliance matters, including assisting clients through product remedial measures and product recalls.

About you

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor (England and Wales) with 12 years' PQE, although we welcome applications from candidates whose experience falls slightly outside this range where they can demonstrate the necessary competencies. You should have a genuine interest in regulatory and compliance law, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in any of the above practice areas would be advantageous but is not essential; a willingness to learn and a proactive attitude are equally valued.

What We Offer

We offer a supportive and collaborative working environment, a structured programme of training and professional development, and the opportunity to build a fulfilling career in a growing area of legal practice. You will benefit from early responsibility, exposure to high-quality work, and close supervision from experienced practitioners who are committed to helping you reach your potential.

Whats in it for you?

We want to reward you today and help you plan for tomorrow. We appreciate that everyone is different, therefore we have designed a benefits system that offers choice and flexibility based on individual needs and lifestyles. To name a few, these include:

  • Competitive basic salary (reviewed annually)

  • Flexible, hybrid working policy

  • Generous bonus scheme

  • Up to 25 days holiday (rising to 28 days with service)

  • Holiday exchange scheme

  • Private medical insurance

  • Enhanced parental leave

  • Reasonable adjustments and accommodation for disabled talent in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
