CMS is seeking to recruit a Professional Support Lawyer to provide maternity cover within the Banking Knowledge Team. This role will support a busy and diverse Banking practice, working across areas including corporate and leveraged finance, real estate finance, infrastructure, project and asset finance, and restructuring and insolvency.

This is a fixedterm role for 12 months, based in London. Flexible and agile working arrangements can be discussed for this position.

About the role

• Support the Banking team with knowhow, technical updates and daytoday queries across areas including corporate and leveraged finance, real estate finance, infrastructure, project and asset finance, and restructuring and insolvency

• Work alongside Knowledge Counsel and knowhow partners to develop and maintain precedents, guidance notes and other knowledge resources

• Contribute to the design and delivery of internal training and presentations

• Monitor legal and market developments and help translate these into practical insights for fee earners

• Act as a goto point of support, building strong working relationships across the practice

• Take a proactive approach to improving knowledge processes, tools and ways of working

• Qualification as an English law lawyer, with experience in Banking and Finance

• The ability to build credibility and confidence with partners and fee earners at all levels through sound technical judgement and clear communication

• Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills

• Confidence producing written materials and presentation content for a legal audience

• An organised and selfdirected approach, with the ability to prioritise and progress multiple pieces of work

• Good interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and supportive working style

• Experience in a professional support role within a large law firm is helpful, but not essential
