Full Job Description
CMS is seeking to recruit a Professional Support Lawyer to provide maternity cover within the Banking Knowledge Team. This role will support a busy and diverse Banking practice, working across areas including corporate and leveraged finance, real estate finance, infrastructure, project and asset finance, and restructuring and insolvency.
This is a fixedterm role for 12 months, based in London. Flexible and agile working arrangements can be discussed for this position.
About the role
Support the Banking team with knowhow, technical updates and daytoday queries across areas including corporate and leveraged finance, real estate finance, infrastructure, project and asset finance, and restructuring and insolvency
Work alongside Knowledge Counsel and knowhow partners to develop and maintain precedents, guidance notes and other knowledge resources
Contribute to the design and delivery of internal training and presentations
Monitor legal and market developments and help translate these into practical insights for fee earners
Act as a goto point of support, building strong working relationships across the practice
Take a proactive approach to improving knowledge processes, tools and ways of working

Qualification as an English law lawyer, with experience in Banking and Finance
The ability to build credibility and confidence with partners and fee earners at all levels through sound technical judgement and clear communication
Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills
Confidence producing written materials and presentation content for a legal audience
An organised and selfdirected approach, with the ability to prioritise and progress multiple pieces of work
Good interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and supportive working style
Experience in a professional support role within a large law firm is helpful, but not essential
