Job description
The role
This position is based in our Debt Finance team. We advise on the full range of debt finance matters, including leveraged finance, asset finance, real estate and infrastructure finance, fund finance, corporate lending, syndicated facilities and private credit. We act for banks, financial institutions, corporates, sponsors, funds and direct lenders on acquisition financings, refinancings, liability management and other complex financing arrangements. Our lawyers advise on both lender and borrowerside mandates and have extensive experience structuring and executing domestic and crossborder transactions, including financings backed by complex asset and infrastructure portfolios, providing clear and pragmatic advice on sophisticated finance matters.
- Conduct research on complex legal topics and provide tailored legal support to the team.
- Draft legal memoranda, practice notes, and client briefings, and contribute to internal and external publications.
- Prepare client communications to share Clifford Chance's expertise.
- Stay updated on legal developments and disseminate knowledge to the team.
- Contribute to junior lawyer education and organise internal meetings and conferences for knowledge sharing.
- Gather know-how of the department and contribute to the knowledge collection of the team and organise internal meetings and conferences for knowledge sharing.
- Maintain and enhance the template library, identify gaps, create new templates, and update knowledge platforms.
- Ensure coordination and alignment of legal knowledge management initiatives within the Luxembourg office and across the firm.
- Actively participate in local and global knowledge management initiatives.
- Holds an excellent academic background in law with experience in drafting and publishing articles, as well as organising conferences, presentations, and training sessions.
- Demonstrates a strong set of project management skills and an interest in civil/contract law, ideally with experience in private international law, security/collateral, and insolvency law matters.
- Possesses good analytical and research skills, along with project management, organisational, and planning abilities, enabling effective prioritisation of multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently, driving projects and initiatives to completion, with strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Maintains an enthusiastic, positive, and proactive attitude with a pragmatic and hands-on approach, ensuring high accuracy, attention to detail, and meticulous follow-through.
- Capable of working as part of a team and collaborating with lawyers of all levels of seniority.
- Fluent in English and French, with German and/or Luxembourgish considered an asset
- Strong command of Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with knowledge management tools and software is considered a plus.
