Job Overview

Citis Commercial Lending Management (CLM) organization is a core inbusiness credit function within Citis U.S. Commercial Bank. CLM partners directly with Relationship Managers and Independent Risk to deliver disciplined underwriting, thoughtful risk management, and tailored lending solutions for commercial clients.

We are seeking a Vice President, Credit Officer Healthcare to join the CLM team in Irving, Texas, one of Citis most significant commercial credit hubs. This role provides endtoend credit ownership for a Healthcare portfolio, supporting transactions ranging from working capital and term loans to acquisition and growth financing.

This position is ideal for experienced credit professionals who want direct underwriting authority, exposure to complex Healthcare clients, and a clear path toward senior credit leadership.

Role Overview

The VP Credit Officer is responsible for managing a material level of credit exposure across Healthcare industry clients. The role partners closely with Coverage teams to assess new opportunities, structure transactions, and oversee ongoing portfolio riskall while balancing Citis risk appetite with client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Underwriting & Portfolio Ownership

  • Lead the endtoend lending process for assigned Healthcare relationships
  • Prescreen pipeline opportunities with Relationship Managers to assess credit appetite and key risks
  • Prepare, review, and challenge underwriting analysis for new transactions, renewals, amendments, and annual reviews
  • Provide accountability for credit decisions in partnership with Independent Risk

Risk Management & Monitoring

  • Oversee quarterly and annual portfolio reviews, covenant monitoring, and regulatory classification
  • Identify and escalate emerging credit concerns with actionable mitigation strategies
  • Ensure accurate risk ratings and minimize net credit losses across the portfolio

Execution & Documentation

  • Direct and oversee loan documentation for new transactions and modifications
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure approved terms are properly documented

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Participate in client discussions and internal credit forums as a senior credit representative
  • Provide Healthcare sector insights to business, risk, and product partners
  • Serve as a trusted credit thought partner across the deal lifecycle

Leadership & Development

  • Mentor and develop junior credit professionals and officers
  • Contribute to technical credit skill training and bestpractice development within CLM
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and controls

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 610 years of experience in commercial credit underwriting, portfolio management, or credit risk
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, cashflow analysis, and commercial/corporate credit structures
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and articulate a clear credit view
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
  • Experience within a large or regional financial institution

Preferred

  • Healthcare industry credit experience preferred but not required candidates with strong commercial/corporate credit underwriting backgrounds and demonstrated cash flow analysis skills are encouraged to apply
  • Master's degree or professional certification a plus
