Job Description

As the Treasury Operations Manager Fixed Income & Money Market, you will be the operational backbone of our treasury desk. Your expertise will ensure that every tradefrom government securities to short-term money market instrumentsis executed, settled, and reconciled flawlessly. You will safeguard operational integrity, enhance process efficiency, and enable our traders and portfolio managers to focus on market opportunities with confidence

Responsibilities:

Mandatory Requirements:

  • End-to-end settlement process for Fixed Income (G-Secs, corporate bonds, T-Bills) and Money Market instruments (CPs, CDs, call/notice money, repos).
  • Verify, authorize, and release high-value transactions in compliance with RBI guidelines and internal risk controls.
  • Coordinate with counterparties, custodians, clearing corporations, and internal teams to ensure timely trade confirmations and settlements.
  • Monitor and resolve trade exceptions, breaks, and discrepancies through proactive follow-ups.
  • Ensure accurate accounting entries, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting for all treasury transactions.
  • Stay updated on market regulations, settlement cycles, and compliance requirements impacting treasury operations.
  • Ensure accurate valuation of fixed income securities (G-Secs, SDLs, corporate bonds) using market-based and model-based approaches, in line with RBI and accounting standards.
  • Good understanding on transactions processing of Primary & Secondary market corporate bond, CP & CD.
  • Hands-on experience with market applications like NDS, CROMS, E-KUBER, CBRICS & FTrac.
  • Manage operational aspects of Primary Dealership activitiesauction participation, underwriting commitments, and secondary market trades.
  • Prepare and review regulatory reports (ORFS, SGL, RBI returns) with zero tolerance for errors.
  • Coordinate with front office, risk, compliance, and custodians to ensure smooth trade lifecycle management.
  • Stay updated on RBI circulars, market developments, and valuation methodologies to ensure compliance and best practices.

Good-to-Have Requirements:

  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce operational risk, and strengthen internal controls.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Manage daily cash flow, liquidity positions, and collateral requirements to support trading activities.
  • Preparation of all related Regulatory submissions to RBI inclusive of Primary Dealership reports and Standard monthly, Quarterly as well as Yearly reports like PDR II, Risk Based Supervision, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Masters degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CA, FRM, CFA) preferred.

  • 812 years of experience in Treasury Operations with a strong focus on fixed income and money market instruments.
  • In-depth knowledge of valuation techniques for fixed income securities, including yield curve construction, duration/convexity analysis, and mark-to-market processes.
  • Hands-on experience in Primary Dealership operations, including auction bidding, underwriting, and settlement.
  • Strong understanding of RBI regulations, SGL/CSGL processes, and clearing systems.
  • Proficiency in treasury management systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams.
