Job Overview

Team Overview:

Citi's Portfolio Strategy & Research team sits within the Office of the CIO and serves as the analytical engine behind Citi Wealth's global investment views, asset allocation, and thematic positioning. The team blends macroeconomic research, factor analysis, and data visualization to guide portfolio construction and communicate the CIO's outlook to advisors and clients worldwide. The Junior Investment Strategist will play a central role in the Portfolio Strategy & Research team, reporting directly to the Head of Portfolio Strategy.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Junior Investment Strategist with a passion for markets, a strong foundation in market and macroeconomic research, and exceptional communication capabilities. This role will contribute directly to the development of investment views and portfolio positioning, supporting senior strategists and ensuring cohesive messaging across all client and internal communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market and macroeconomic research to contribute to the team's investment views and portfolio positioning.

  • Support senior strategists and macro researchers in translating research output into clear, actionable insights.

  • Create materials for CIO presentations supporting the team's investment views.

  • Contribute to ad-hoc analysis for thematic research pieces and internal strategy calls.

  • Collaborate with communications teams to ensure visual outputs and messaging align with Citi's CIO brand and strategy, for both client and internal audiences.

  • Assist in maintaining interactive dashboards that visualize macroeconomic indicators and track portfolio performance.

  • Integrate relevant market data and internal datasets to ensure consistency and data integrity across views.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in investment strategy, market research, or economics.

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with financial data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Haver Analytics) is ideal.

  • Experience working with macro, factor, or asset-class datasets is preferred.

  • Ability to synthesize complex market and macroeconomic findings into clear, actionable insights.

  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and exceptional communication clarity; the candidate will deliver analysis in team meetings and contribute to client-facing materials.
