Job Overview

Managing Director role responsible forCard Payments and Network Partnershipsfor US Consumer Cards.This leadership role withintheValueCards, Lending and Commerce teamleads Citis network relationships andstrategic partnerships with keyplayers in payments, wallets,andopen banking ecosystem.ThisProductManagementGroup Manager(MD)is a senior management level positionaccountable forsustained profitable growthinthis areaincluding strategy, innovation,relationshipmanagementandproductcommercialization. This leader willbe responsible fora broad range of employees, settingstrategiesand providing direction,leadershipand budgetary management.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute moderate and long-term strategy forCardPayments and Network partnerships.Directly manage and expand currentnetwork and embedded paymentspartnerships.

  • Working with network/wallets/PSPsand internal stakeholders to develop roadmap and capabilities for interchange optimization, approval rateimprovementsand fraud prevention. 

  • Cultivate andmaintainrelationships with existing and emerging card processing and payment companies, with the aim of creatingnewproduct featuresfor US Consumer Cards. 

  • Work with legal, ops, tech, product teams to develop partner pipelines, manage contractnegotiation,launch roadmaps tocommercialize integrations and provideongoingvendor oversight.

  • Providebusiness development support on partnership opportunities on card benefits,commerceandvalue proposition.

  • Collaborate with various Citi teams (ventures, research, retail bank, services) on firm wide initiatives related to payments,openbanking,commerce and fintech partnerships.

  • Serve as SME for cards ecosystem including networks, VAS, processors, wallet providers, acquirers across both credit and debit rails.Engage with internal and external entities on legal/regulatory developments and act as Citi SMEcardpayments related disruptions.

  • Manage a team ofprofessionalstoaccomplishestablished goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g.performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions) as well as negotiate and make decisions on issues/activities having critical impact/influence on company revenues, capital, or business operations.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
