Job Overview
Citibank is looking for an Associate to work with our Commercial Mortgage Warehouse Group. The candidate will work with senior members of our group and with the groups clients to finance commercial mortgage loans on our commercial mortgage warehouse facilities.
Responsibilities include underwriting and due diligence of commercial properties and underlying mortgage loans, preparing and presenting approval memorandum for both advances against loans and the warehouse lines we provide to our clients. Additional responsibilities include supporting our middle office, Risk, and CLO functions with respect to our clients.
Work with senior Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) officers and professionals and participate in particular client transactions, projects or assignments as the junior member of the Investment Banking team
Responsible for organizing and analyzing sophisticated financial data used in client proposals and strategic plans
Prepare written recommendations, valuation materials and statistical exhibits for pitches and live deals
Conduct economic/financial research
Evaluate companys financial performance compared to overall industry and market trends
Build complex financial models for valuation purposes
Perform periodic loan surveillance, including re-underwriting and commentary on deal performance.
Ad hoc projects, which may include loan servicing, loan administration, future fundings, amendments/modifications/extensions, payoffs, documentation, etc.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
Candidates are generally required to have a BA/BS, preferably with a major in real estate, business, accounting or economics.
Proficiency with Excel and preferably some exposure to Argus.
Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to multitask.
Excellent writing and presentation skills.
5-8 years of relevant experience
Administration Master's degree in Business Administration preferred
Experience in evaluating financing transactions and structures
Experience creating financial analyses
Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Experience assisting with client development
Ability to work with teams and track business development (collect research, analyze industry trends)
Education:
Bachelors degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business
