Connect System Engineer

Job Summary

Systems Engineering The OS Configuration team manages the full lifecycle of retail POS systems from evaluation to retirement. Store Systems Engineers configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

The role involves supporting installations, software deployment, and Tier3 (T3) support teams by developing PowerShell scripts to automate tasks such as equipment staging, deployment optimization, and troubleshooting. Strong Windows, Retail, and Datadog experience is mandatory. Physical access to POS hardware is required for testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complete POS lifecycle: evaluation, deployment, maintenance, and retirement
  • Configure and test Windows OS and retail applications
  • Develop PowerShell scripts to automate deployment and staging activities
  • Improve software deployment scripts for efficiency and fault tolerance
  • Create troubleshooting and diagnostic scripts for L2 and T3 teams
  • Support installation and software deployment across retail stores
  • Perform hands-on testing using physical POS equipment
  • Monitor system health and performance using Datadog
  • Collaborate closely with installation, deployment, and T3 support teams
  • Document configurations, scripts, and troubleshooting procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Systems / Store Systems Engineering
  • Strong Windows OS expertise
  • PowerShell scripting (3+ years)
  • Hands-on experience with MDT, SCCM
  • Strong exposure to Retail POS hardware & software
  • Datadog experience mandatory
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP, VPN, Firewalls)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced retail IT environment

Mandatory Skills

  • PowerShell Scripting 3+ years (script writing & automation)
  • Windows OS Strong hands-on experience
  • OS Imaging & Deployment MDT, SCCM

Good to Have:

  • Retail Domain experience
  • Intune / Kaseya / Marimba
  • Splunk (dashboards, SPL, admin)
