Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and visionary ServiceNow CMDB Architect to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role is vital to ensuring the integrity, reliability, and effectiveness of configuration data that underpins our IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM) functions.
Youll be at the forefront of our ServiceNow ecosystem, applying best practices, industry standards, and technical expertise to build and maintain a high-performing, business-aligned CMDB.
Key Responsibilities:
CMDB Design & Architecture
• Design and manage the CMDB data model using the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
• Define governance, standards, and policies to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Establish data normalization and reconciliation strategies.
• Architect CMDB integration with other ServiceNow modules (ITSM, ITOM, Asset Management) and third-party systems.
• Implement Service Mapping to visualize service-to-infrastructure relationships.
Implementation & Maintenance
• Lead ServiceNow CMDB configurations, including data loading, cleansing, and transformation.
• Configure discovery sources (ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM, cloud providers) for automatic CI population.
• Monitor and maintain CMDB health with regular audits, cleanup, and issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve configuration and data-related discrepancies.
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Partner with cross-functional teams to capture and deliver on CMDB requirements.
• Serve as a CMDB subject matter expert and advisor across technical and non-technical groups.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and CMDB process training.
Continuous Improvement
• Stay current with ServiceNow capabilities and industry trends.
• Identify and implement opportunities for automation and efficiency within CMDB processes.
• Support strategic planning and ServiceNow roadmap initiatives.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend ongoing enhancements.
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain detailed documentation of architecture, processes, models, and procedures.
• Build and manage dashboards and reports for CMDB health, compliance, and usage analytics.
