Your Role

As a Senior VoIP Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, optimizing, and supporting carriergrade SIP and VoIP infrastructure. You will serve as the highest-level technical escalation point for complex SIP signaling, media issues, and interoperability challenges across multicarrier environments. Your expertise will ensure reliable, secure, and highquality voice services for our global platforms.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct detailed interoperability testing between carriers, SBCs, softswitches, and SIP platforms.
  • Design, configure, and maintain SIP trunking solutions with multiple carriers.
  • Troubleshoot advanced SIP/RTP incidents including oneway audio, call failures, and signaling mismatches.
  • Capture, review, and analyze SIP call flows and media streams using tools like Wireshark, SIPp, sngrep, HEPIC/Homer, and Empirix.
  • Collaborate with network and security teams to integrate SIP services across diverse network environments.
  • Work closely with vendors and carriers to validate configurations, resolve escalations, and ensure endtoend service functionality.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation such as call flow diagrams, interconnect standards, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Mentor junior engineers and operations staff on SIP protocols, diagnostics, and best practices.

Your Profile

7+ years of handson VoIP engineering experience, with strong expertise in SIP trunking and carrier interoperability.Deep understanding of SIP signaling (INVITE, BYE, REGISTER, reINVITE, UPDATE, PRACK, REFER, etc.), SDP, RTP/RTCP.Proven experience troubleshooting complex SIP interoperability issues across carriers and SBC vendors.Handson experience with SBCs and SIP proxies (Ribbon, AudioCodes, Oracle/Acme Packet, OpenSIPS, Kamailio, etc.).Strong proficiency with packet-analysis and SIP diagnostics tools (Wireshark, sngrep, SIPp, Homer/HEP, Empirix).Solid networking knowledge: IP, DNS, subnetting, VLANs, routing.Comfortable working in Linux environments for VoIP platforms.Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred:Experience with ENUM, LNP, routing databases, or SS7SIP interworking.Knowledge of SIP security (TLS, SRTP) and regulatory standards such as STIR/SHAKEN, E911, LI.Exposure to softswitch architectures and VoIP core systems.Scripting skills (Python, Bash, Ansible).Relevant industry certifications (SSCA®, Ribbon, AudioCodes, Oracle/Acme Packet)
