Your role

You will play a key role in supporting Capgeminis UK & Ireland business by providing strategic legal advice across complex commercial and technology transactions. Working closely with internal stakeholders and clients, you will guide deals from early stages through negotiation to post-signature matters. You will contribute to impactful business decisions, support compliance, and drive innovation in how legal services are delivered, while collaborating within a global, forward-thinking legal team.

Your tasks

The successful candidate will enjoy a degree of responsibility appropriate to a lawyer providing a full legal service (with support from senior members of the team when required), including:

  • advising on all phases of deals, ranging from the proposal/bid review stages through to negotiation and post signature issues. This includes providing strategic legal advice at all stages of the deal.
  • negotiation of contracts for the provision of IT, outsourcing (including business process outsourcing), consultancy, digital and engineering services.
  • Supporting large, strategic deals either as deal lead or supporting the deal lead, as required
  • Providing post-contract and/or dispute resolution support, as required
  • supporting the Groups compliance programme, raising regulatory compliance issues
  • delivering occasional legal training and presentations to the business
  • leading or supporting on a variety of transformation projects within the legal team to drive efficiencies in how we deliver legal services.
  • liaising with external lawyers as necessary.
  • Other non-client related matters such as those relating to suppliers, and partners as well as supporting legal compliance initiatives in areas such as competition law, export control, anti-bribery, and corruption.

Your profile

  • Strong expertise in commercial and contract law, particularly in IT, cloud, digital, data protection, and cybersecurity.
  • Ability to own and deliver complex work, applying sound judgement and managing risks effectively. You will be working with a broad range of internal stakeholders and external clients and will advise on a wide variety of commercial issues and transactions, varying in nature, complexity, and value, as well as ad hoc legal and regulatory issues.
  • Demonstrated commercial awareness with a clear understanding of business drivers and priorities
  • Confidence to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted relationships across the organisation
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working collaboratively, with the ability to mentor, coach, and share knowledge
  • Resilience and adaptability, with the ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments
  • Openness to innovation and new technologies, including the use of AI in legal work, and commitment to continuous improvement
