* Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring adherence to close calendars, SLA timelines, and control requirements.
* Review work performed by analysts, provide technical guidance, and act as the first level of escalation for complex accounting and process-related queries.

* Develop strong understanding of retail business flows, store operations, inventory, cash, sales, and related financial impacts to effectively support business and partner teams.
* Strengthen and implement internal controls, including four-eye review, variance analysis, exception monitoring, and compliance checks to ensure a robust governance environment.
* Identify root causes of process breaks, control gaps, and recurring reconciling items; drive corrective actions and sustainable process improvements.
* Partner with internal stakeholders including business teams, controllership, operations, technology, and offshore/onshore teams to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
* Leverage ERP and digital tools, including PDI and reporting/analytics platforms, to improve process efficiency, data transparency, and decision support.
* Support audits, provide documentation for control evidence, and ensure readiness for internal and external review requirements.
* Contribute to automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives by finding opportunities to simplify manual tasks and enhance process resilience.
* Demonstrate strong ownership, vitality, and accountability while handling challenging priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional accounting qualification or progress toward one will be an advantage.
* Relevant experience in retail accounting, financial control, record-to-report, or shared services finance operations, preferably supporting Americas or multi-geography businesses.
* Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, period-end close, and financial reporting processes.
* Hands-on experience in identifying, investigating, and resolving accounting exceptions, reconciling items, and process issues independently.
* Prior experience working in a subject matter expert capacity or in a role involving review, guidance, or mentoring of junior team members.

* Solid understanding of retail accounting systems and ERP platforms; experience with PDI ERP will be strongly preferred.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large data sets, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable insights.
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and comfort working with reporting, visualization, and automation tools to improve process outcomes.
* Strong understanding of internal controls, compliance, audit readiness, and risk mitigation within finance operations.
* Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact confidently across teams and geographies.
* Proven ability to work independently, handle deadlines, and maintain high accuracy in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
