Full Job Description
Were seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President to join our Controllers team. This role is located in Pittsburgh.
The Vice President, Accounting will play a critical role in advancing BNY's strategic pillars by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of accounting, reporting, and compliance activities. As a key member of the Accounting job family within the Finance/Accounting function, this position focuses on delivering high-quality financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and drive organizational growth. The role embodies BNY's principles by fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and client-centricity, ensuring that all accounting practices align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
In this role, youll make an impact in the following ways:
Oversee accounting activities for wind farm, leasing entities and other legal entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.
Support and participate in the month-end close process, including review and analysis of accounting results, reconciliations, and related reporting activities.
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure robust internal controls.
Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making and business planning initiatives.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Corporate Tax, the CRA investment team, and other key stakeholders to align accounting activities with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and inform strategic planning.
To be successful in this role, were seeking the following:
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Typically 5-10 years of experience.
SKILLS:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strategic relationships and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and developing team members.
