Senior Director, Head of Wealth Strategies

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Director, Head of Wealth Strategies to join our Wealth Advice and Planning team. This role is located in New York, NY.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead a national team of wealth strategists across the country, who are responsible for advising a diverse range of Ultra High Net Worth clients on all aspects of estate & gift tax planning, family governance, philanthropy and family wealth and business succession strategies.
  • Serve as the Senior Wealth Strategist in the New York City Tri-state market.
  • Set and manage priorities and performance metrics for the team.
  • Oversee and help drive thought leadership on wealth planning, including industry conferences and COI outreach efforts.
  • Manage relationships with Regional Presidents, Market Leaders and other business stakeholders to maximize effective use of the team and resources.
  • As a member of the Leadership team of the Head of Advice, Planning & Fiduciary Services, you will own setting business strategy for the wealth strategists and contributing to the overall strategic direction and execution of the advice, planning and fiduciary offering of BNY Wealth.
  • Recruit, develop, direct and motivate an exceptional team to maximize both individual and team contributions, professional growth and overall engagement.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree and J.D., law, accounting, tax degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10-15 years of total professional experience in Ultra High Net Worth wealth planning with at least 3-5 years in team management, with a strong preference in wealth management firms.
  • Experience in tax analysis and advisory required.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple teams and manage complex client relationships.
  • Strong expertise in tax and estate planning, risk management and strategic advisory.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
