As a key member of the Market Operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our trading platforms. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and responding to technical issues, managing client communication, and providing advanced troubleshooting support. You will also be involved in scheduled job management, environmental monitoring, and software upgrades, while contributing to the development of tools and automation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to technical platform and trade failures, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Manage internal and external client communication, providing clear and proactive updates.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting, analyzing log files, FIX logs, and environmental issues.
  • Support scheduled jobs using Autosys and Cron, ensuring their proper monitoring and configuration.
  • Configure environmental alerting using Microfocus OpsBridge and Sitescope for servers and application components.
  • Perform new software upgrades, including code release and post-release health checks.
  • Build tools and automate processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and smooth operations.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in application support and trading platforms.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and in-person communication skills, with a talent for translating business user needs.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Unix Shell, Perl) and external connectivity/networking concepts.
  • Equities, Fixed Income, or Foreign Exchange knowledge is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Source Code Repositories (Git, Perforce) and Software Release tools is an asset.
  • DB/SQL skills are desirable.
  • Familiarity with JIRA service desk and server administration is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the FIX protocol is a plus.
