Structured Finance team sits within the Investment Banking & Finance group (IB&F), part of BBVAs Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) division. As part of the Structured Finance team in Madrid, the successful candidate will be responsible for arranging, structuring and executing complex large-scale structured finance mandates in the infrastructure and asset finance space.

About the job:

As a Senior Vice President, you will assume a leadership role in driving strategic origination initiatives and delivering complex lending solutions.

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Holding a dialogue and negotiation with clients at the level of CFO/Treasurers to lead their financing transactions with a variety of solutions (among others, term loans, bridge loans, etc....).

  • Taking on and handling projects autonomously with the support of junior team members.

  • Managing key internal stakeholders across coverage, syndicate, legal, sales, and risk to secure necessary approvals.

  • Involvement and supervision of the preparation of high-quality marketing materials, financial models, and credit proposals for internal committees and syndication processes.

  • Conducting the execution of multiple transactions in parallel, ensuring high standards and timely delivery.

  • Responsible to have a deep understanding of the internal mechanisms and culture, as well as adherence to the corporate policies and internal and external compliance regulations.

  • Mentoring and developing junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

These responsibilities require strategic vision, a results-oriented mindset, and the capacity to manage high-impact projects under pressure.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree, MBA, or an equivalent graduate qualification in a financial discipline preferably with more than 7 years of working experience in the bank lending field and / or structured finance field, preferably in infrastructure and/or asset finance.

  • Extensive experience leading debt transactions.

  • Strong decision-making capability and ability to lead origination and execution processes autonomously.

  • Proven commercial expertise and client-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify client needs and deliver tailored financial solutions.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Absolute knowledge of origination and syndication practices, legal documentation standards, and internal risk processes.

  • Solid understanding of M&A processes and its related financing structures.

  • Knowledge of complementary financial markets including corporate bonds, ratings, private placements, project finance, LBOs and derivatives.

  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for project finance, capital markets, and macroeconomic trends, as well as for infrastructure and asset finance.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish.

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, AI applications, and Google Chrome.
