Join us as a Senior Credit Risk Portfolio Management Lead within Barclays where you will help shape the future of banking by being Responsible for leading a team of 1516 colleagues focused on credit risk and credit strategy, supporting business growth through scalable and effective credit solutions. The role involves developing, deploying, and refining credit strategies in line with regulatory and affordability requirements, responding to changes in the external environment through insight led analysis, and understanding key risk drivers. Additionally, the role includes delivering change and transformation, while regularly identifying, managing, and clearly articulating credit risks and controls.


To be successful as a Senior Credit Risk Portfolio Management Lead, you should have:


Experience interrogating large data sets, identifying trends/risk/opportunities, and managing teams who do so.
Credit risk & Affordibility experience
Understanding of FCA regulations
Experience translate analysis into clear proposals
Experience in managing risk and controls
Experience in leadership, managing multiple senior stakeholders
Experience in credit risk - portfolio management
Understanding of credit models

Purpose of the role

To manage and optimise the bank's overall credit risk exposure by monitoring, analysing, and reporting on the creditworthiness of its lending portfolio.

Accountabilities

  • Monitoring the financial performance and risk profile of the entire lending portfolio, including individual borrowers, sectors, and geographic regions.
  • Analysis of credit trends, identify early warning signs of potential borrowers' issues, and assess the impact of economic and market developments on the portfolio.
  • Development and utilisation of quantitative models and risk forecasting tools to measure and predict potential credit losses.
  • Performance of portfolio stress testing exercises to assess the impact of various economic and market scenarios on the portfolio's risk profile.
  • Definition and setting of portfolio, segment and customer risk appetite, policy and limits. Overseeing first line execution within these parameters.
