Embark on a transformative journey as a .Net Developer. At Barclays, our vision is clear to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. In this role, you will design, develop, and continuously enhance software solutions using a variety of engineering methodologies. Your work will deliver scalable business, platform, and technology capabilities that support both customers and internal teams.

To be successful as a .Net Developer, you should have:

  • Experience in .NET development C# using objectoriented programming, with SQL programming, including stored procedures on SQL Server 2005+, CI/CD pipelines, Microsoft DevOps, GitLab, and ASP.NET 4.0 and above

  • DevOps management experience, including security ticket handling, board customization, and build and release pipelines

  • Experience with the OPICS development framework

  • Experience developing REST and SOAP APIs / Web Services

  • Solid design skills with endtoend experience across the full software development lifecycle, SDLC

Other highly valued skills include:

  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills

  • Strong knowledge of financial products, including Fixed Income, Swaps, Repos, and FX

  • Motivation to challenge the status quo, recognizing that how its always been done is not always the best approach going forward

  • Knowledge of the OPICS system

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organizations technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
