Step into a fastpaced, highimpact Counterparty Credit Risk role at Barclays, where youll be at the frontline of trade approvals, limit monitoring, and realtime risk decisionmaking. Youll work closely with frontoffice teams, support credit risk officers, and gain handson exposure to excess management and counterparty control. To be successful as a Counterparty Credit Risk Analyst, you should have experience with:

  • Experience in using and incorporating AI and technologyenabled tools to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Willingness to develop expertise in counterparty control and excess management, including reviewing posttrade exposures and trade adjustments.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with front office, credit officers, and other internal teams.
  • High levels of attention to detail and diligence when reviewing trades and potential limit breaches.
  • Ability to work at fast pace, supporting realtime trade approvals and responding to credit risk hotline queries.

Some other highly valued skills include:

  • Prior credit risk or investment banking experience.
  • Exposure to trade approvals or counterparty credit processes.

Location: Glasgow only, working hours are typically 7:30am4:30pm

Purpose of the role

To safeguard the financial health of the bank by identifying, analysing, and mitigating potential credit risks associated with lending activities.

Accountabilities

  • Analysis of financial data, including income, assets, liabilities, credit history, and economic trends, to determine the risk of default.
  • Monitoring of existing loan portfolios to identify potential credit deterioration or early warning signs of default.
  • Recommendation of loan approvals, rejections, or adjustments based on risk evaluation and bank lending policies.
  • Development and implementation of credit risk mitigation strategies, including collateral management, loan restructuring, and workout plans.

Analyst Expectations

  • To perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard consistently driving continuous improvement.
  • Requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise
  • Thorough understanding of the underlying principles and concepts within the area of expertise
  • They lead and supervise a team, guiding and supporting professional development, allocating work requirements and coordinating team resources.
