Join us as a IOS Engineer at Barclays, where you will spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.  

To be successful as a IOS Engineer, you should have experience with:

  • Design, develop and maintain iOS applications using modern iOS technologies.
  • Build scalable, reusable and highperformance components for customerfacing mobile journeys.
  • Provide technical leadership across iOS development, influencing design and implementation decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, architects and QA teams to deliver endtoend solutions.
  • Ensure solutions meet high standards of quality, security, performance and reliability.
  • Lead and participate in code reviews, mentoring engineers and promoting best practices.
  • Define and support robust testing strategies including unit, integration and UI testing.
  • Support live applications through incident resolution, rootcause analysis and performance optimisation.
  • Stay current with iOS platform evolution and emerging mobile technologies, recommending improvements where appropriate.
  • Strong experience in iOS application development using Swift (ObjectiveC knowledge is a plus).
  • Proven experience delivering consumerfacing iOS applications at scale.
  • Solid understanding of the iOS SDK, app lifecycle, UI frameworks and Apple design guidelines.
  • Experience integrating iOS applications with RESTful APIs.
  • Handson experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to make sound technical decisions.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Experience working on mobile banking or largescale digital platforms.
  • Knowledge of performance optimisation, memory management and accessibility on iOS.
  • Experience collaborating with Android or crossplatform (e.g. React Native) teams.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and monitoring tools.
  • Background working in regulated or securityfocused environments.

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organizations technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
