Full Job Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, you will be part of a dedicated business and strategy team responsible for preparing an annual strategy plan for the company as part of a robust annual strategy process. You will coordinate inputs into the strategy from all parts of the business, working with business owners to define strategic priorities in specific areas, and preparing key strategy documents for review by the Strategy Manager and the Chief Strategy Officer. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work majority of your week away from home. Away from home means either attendance at one of our head office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What youll be doing: Work with the CEOs Business Manager and the Executive team to gather input and facilitate discussions related to strategic initiatives. Assist local management teams in adapting and implementing aspects of the strategy within their areas. Work closely with various departments, including finance, marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives. Work with the Internal Comms team to accurately communicate the strategy to staff. Assist with communicating strategic initiative progress at quarterly steering meetings. Ensure all submission deadlines are met and maintain high quality standards for strategy papers to secure necessary approvals from the relevant stakeholders including the CEO, Board and AXA Group. Develop the agreed strategy into a detailed implementation plan that can be monitored throughout the year. Track the progress of strategic initiatives, providing regular updates and highlighting any deviations from the plan. Conduct a full annual review of the internal and external market context for the business to identify key opportunities and potential threats to be addressed in the strategy. Gather, analyse, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to support strategic decision-making About You/What were looking for: 5+ years' business experience, in a similar role, preferably within the P&C or health insurance industry. Third level qualification in business or another relevant discipline essential, a Masters or MBA in business strategy would be desirable. Thorough understanding of the overall business environment in which AXA / Laya operate/insurance company. Comfortable working with financial data and familiarity with data visualisation tools. Strong business judgment with the ability to assess how external trends impact strategic initiatives. Excellent written communication skills, capable of distilling complex information into clear, accessible summaries. Effective listening skills, with the ability to accurately understand and analyze input from diverse stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment and influence across all organisational levels. This role is an allocated Controlled Function under Fitness & Probity Regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements.
