London, United Kingdom The Reinsurance Controllership team is a Global team with members located in Ireland, India and Switzerland. The role reports to the Head of Reinsurance Segment Controllership and is, together with the team, responsible for Controllership and Segment Management reporting of the Reinsurance Segment with focus on IFRS 17. Additionally, the team has a key role in managing the relationship with external auditors as well as providing analytics and management information to Corporate and Reinsurance Leadership team. What youll be doing What will your essential responsibilities include? Support the management of the quarterly financial reporting process for the reinsurance segment, including all related activities necessary for accurate corporate consolidation and compliance. Prepare and compile comprehensive segment financial statements, including balance sheet and income statement, to facilitate a clear understanding of quarter-to-quarter changes. This includes analyzing and explaining variances supported by regional commentary. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in reporting processes, data quality, and information delivery. Focus areas include data enrichment, process efficiency enhancements, and standardization across regions and segments to ensure consistency and accuracy. Collaborate closely with Regional Finance Controllers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency in financial reporting and data management across the reinsurance segment. Manage the transition from IFRS 4 to IFRS 17 accounting standards in quarterly financial closings, ensuring correct recording and understanding of required adjustments such as discounting, acquisition costs, underwriting expenses, and classification changes. Assist the team lead in managing relationships with various stakeholders, including external and internal auditors, as well as other relevant parties. Handle ad hoc requests, work for projects, and initiatives related to financial reporting, IFRS 17, or process optimization. You will report to the Head of Reinsurance Segment Controllership. What youll bring Were looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Masters or Bachelors degree preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or qualified by experience in related discipline. Qualified accountant with several years of experience in the financial services industry, ideally P&C insurance or reinsurance. Proven understanding of IFRS accounting for (re-)insurance, especially IFRS 17. Finance and Insurance know-how (ideally P&C) as well as understanding of complexities inherent in an insurance group (consolidation processes, legal vs. management view) allowing for cross-departmental thinking and acting. Advanced Excel skills and experience with Oracle and Hyperion Financials Robust analytical and report writing skills as well as solid organizational and communication skills. Fluent in English Experience working in a global organization with demands across multiple time-zones.
