We have a permanent opportunity to join AXA Ireland as Commercial & Retail Sales Manager (NI). Reporting to the Head of Commercial & Intermediary Distribution, the Commercial & Retail Sales Manager will lead a team of Business Development Managers & Customer Development Executives, ensuring growth and sustaining relationships across Commercial & Retail driving new business, retention and finding new opportunities in the market. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work majority of your week away from home. Away from home means either attendance at one of our head office locations (Belfast or Derry), visiting brokers or attending industry events. What youll be doing: Input and contribute to the development of the Commercial & Retail business strategy. Contribute to the design, implementation and regular review of the distribution strategic development plan including regular delivery of reviews with senior management team. Management of new deals process. Drive and ensure delivery of initiatives that will support the transformation of Retail Partner supporting our customers and employees. Engage and influence cross-functional stakeholders. Embed a robust compliance and risk culture across distribution. Work closely with colleagues across the business to prioritise work that will have the biggest impact to sales growth. Abide by the common and additional conduct standards as outline under CBI. Lead BDMs and elevate CDEs, setting challenging but realistic targets around account development, finding new opportunities in the market and meeting retention targets. Lead/ manage resources to efficiently achieve financial targets, implementing and executing the planning, forecasting, and managing of budgets. Financial limits for non-budgeted capital and project expenditure are within the delegated authorities. What were looking for: 7+ years of experience, including 3-5 years in management roles (essential), with a strong background in operational leadership (preferably in general insurance) Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required (essential) Progress towards or ACII qualifications or equivalent preferred (desirable) Proven track record of driving sales and transformational growth, optimising distribution channels and capability to achieve goals Strong level of technical underwriting expertise in a Commercial & Retail insurance environment desirable Relationship management Deep commercial & retail product & market knowledge Advanced sales and negotiation expertise This role is an allocated Controlled Function under Fitness & Probity Regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements.
