Full Job Description
At AXA Commercial, we support our business customers, large and small, by making it easy for them to do business with us in the way that suits them. Whether they insure with us via brokers, directly on the phone or online through comparison sites, we've got them covered. As Business Development Manager in our Maidstone branch, youll build meaningful relationships with a designated panel of key brokers. Youll take ownership for generating profitable business. Youll develop and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities. Youll plan, forecast and set operational targets, supporting us to achieve AXA Commercials strategic development plan. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What youll be doing: Proactively develop strong relationships with a designated panel of brokers, taking full ownership for the generation of profitable business. Build, manage and maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including all key customers and networks to deliver strategy and increase opportunities for the business. Prepare, design, implement and review agreed development plans. Proactively develop a robust pipeline of appropriate new business opportunities and ensure that long-term pipeline is realised by ensuring broker / client engagement. Understand in its entirety and communicate internally within AXA, the nature of the brokers business, the marketplace and the extent and potential of the relationship. Plan, forecast and set the operational targets (including the budget and the financial model) to achieve the strategic development plan. Review progress of initiatives against plan and take remedial action as appropriate. Prospect potential new opportunities and markets. Identify new deals, assess feasibility and project manage the implementation of new deals. Technical Insurance or Financial Services background in a consumer-oriented environment. Networking and relationship building skills. Knowledge of underwriting and risk management principles. Mid-market knowledge and generation experience. ACII qualification or equivalent beneficial.
