Description

Job Purpose: The Senior Claims Assessor plays a critical role in managing and evaluating a portfolio of complex claims in line with policy terms and risk guidelines. This position ensures timely and accurate claim assessments and delivering excellent service to policyholders and brokers. The role requires a strong understanding of policy conditions, legal frameworks, and commercial sensitivity, as well as effective collaboration across departments such as Collections and Commercial.

Key Responsibilites:

Assess trade credit insurance claims to determine coverage and liability based on policy terms and conditions, risk  data and debt documentation.
Request additional documentation or clarifications from policyholders and/or brokers.
Cleary communicate assessment decisions and next steps to the policyholders and/or brokers.
Handle possible claim appeals and resolve complaints from policyholders and/or brokers.
Collaborate with the Collections team to verify the adequacy of collection efforts and policy compliance.
Respond promptly to internal and external inquiries through the Claims Helpdesk.
Apply commercial gestures authorized by the Commercial department and escalate contractual issues when needed.
Maintain detailed and accurate records and documentation throughout the claim lifecycle.
Provide support and assistance to other team members.
Support process improvement initiatives, knowledge sharing, and departmental training.
 
Key Experience and Skills:

Business Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of insurance contracts, and policy wording.
  • In-depth knowledge of claims and collections processes, systems, and quality standards and  operational guidelines.
  • Ability with numbers and data interpretation.

Required Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Customer-centric, results-oriented team player with high professional standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Law, Insurance, or a related field.
Minimum 35 years of experience in claims assessment within the insurance industry.
Adjusters License mandatory.
Experience in credit insurance handling is a strong plus.

Total Compensation Range:

$65,000-$85,000

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individuals relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary ranges are only one component of our total compensation package.
