Job description
EY is seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer for its Financial Services team in Belgium. The role involves designing complex data architectures, developing scalable cloud-based data solutions, and leading a team of data engineers across various client projects in the financial sector.
As a Data Engineering Lead, the primary responsibilities include leading client discussions, advising on data architecture solutions, supporting implementation of data platforms, designing and maintaining efficient data pipelines, creating robust data products using cloud platforms like Azure Synapse, Snowflake, and Databricks, and translating data and analytics requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Essential skills for this role include a Master's degree in computer science or related field, minimum 5+ years of Data Engineering experience, expertise in batch and real-time processing frameworks, hands-on experience with cloud/DevOps environments, practical knowledge of distributed systems, data lakes, ETL/ELT processes, and solid experience with Microsoft Azure ecosystem. Candidates must demonstrate excellent analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and strong communication skills with the ability to lead and coach technical teams.
