JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview

As part of the Data Acquisition and Distribution Support team, you will be closely aligned with our existing Business Intelligence, ETL and Static Data teams. You will assume responsibility for downloading and processing the thousands of business-critical data files SIG is dependent on daily.

 

The role will require you to be dynamic, proactive and have a proven track record of working in a vibrant and challenging environment. You must be comfortable working in an ORACLE database environment, be experienced in using SQL techniques, scripting and willing to learn to use new tools and techniques.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize file download and processing pipelines to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using Informatica and related tools.
  • Drive automation projects to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Implement best practices for data integration, transformation, and quality assurance.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot ETL processes, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Building new data extraction and transformation processes using Informatica/PySpark and other tools to stage downloaded data.
  • Providing production support for the download processes and Informatica/PySpark workflows.

 


What we're looking for
  • 4+ years of experience supporting and troubleshooting FTP and/or ETL related processes and jobs.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Postgres or SQL Server.
  • Strong understanding of data integration, data quality, and data governance principles.
  • Proven ability to implement process improvements and drive automation.
  • Experience working with stakeholders across business and technology team
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Familiarity with file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTP) and scheduling tools such as Tidal or Airflow.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Encryption and Key Authentication knowledge

 

Desirable Skills

  • Financial services knowledge a plus
  • Experience working with ETL tools such as Informatica, a plus.
  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for automation.
  • Exposure to data warehousing and BI tools.

 

Personal Skills

  • Initiative – proven record of seeking continuous improvement and implementing best practice
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated and creative
