Susquehanna is seeking a Compliance Associate to join our team supporting the Institutional Sales Trading Desk. This position will play a key role in the development and expansion of our institutional trading platform in the APAC region, including the design and implementation of compliance frameworks and programs to support the firm’s growth objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in client-facing financial businesses in Asia and a comprehensive understanding of regional regulatory environments,
Based in our Hong Kong office, the Compliance Associate will be responsible for ensuring that sales and trading activities comply with all applicable local regulations. The role involves providing timely, accurate and practicable compliance guidance to sales and trading professionals, enabling them to operate in the best interest of the clients while adhering to regulatory and internal policy requirements.
What you’ll do
- Provide advice and compliance oversight to sales and traders covering equities and fixed income products
- Fostering trust and collaboration between key departments (Technology, Operations, Legal and the Business)
- Excellent communication skills and comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels.
- Keeping up to date with relevant regulatory/rule changes and ensuring best practices standards are adhered to
- Assisting in responding to regulatory inquiries and investigations
- Strong data and reporting skills as well as excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience with a demonstrated interest in financial markets
- Knowledge of Securities and Futures Ordinance and The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Rules
- A highly motivated self-starter, who learns quickly and works well under pressure
- A critical thinker with strong analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
- A proactive team player, who enjoys working collaboratively across teams and disciplines
- Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills; the candidate should be outgoing, communicative, persuasive, and curious.
