Jump APAC Legal and Compliance team is seeking a highly experience lawyer specialized in advising equity capital trading team on up-to-date trading rules and regulations, and monitoring trades on desk.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as the primary legal and compliance advisor to the equity capital trading team, providing real-time guidance on trading activities, strategies, and regulatory considerations in major APAC equity markets, including Hong Kong.
  • Monitor trading desk activities to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations, identifying and mitigating potential compliance risks in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Keep the team informed of updates in trading regulations and market practices across the APAC region, proactively advising on changes that impact trading strategies or operations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including traders, risk managers, and other legal/compliance colleagues, to develop and implement effective compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Independently identify potential compliance risks, exercise sound judgment under time-sensitive conditions, and provide timely solutions while balancing regulatory requirements and business objectives.
  • Foster strong working relationships through clear communication and problem-solving skills, contributing to the firm’s dynamic and flat organizational culture.
  • Other duties as assigned or needed

Skills You’ll Need:

  • Law degree with 6-8 years of working experience, of which at least 3 years must be acting as trading desk lawyer/compliance officer
  • Good understanding of trading compliance risks, knowledgeable in local trading rules and regulations, particularly for big equity capital markets in APAC region including Hong Kong
  • With practical experience, confident and comfortable in advising compliance on potential trading opportunities
  • Ability to work independently to identify potential risk and form good judgment under time and business pressure, while still being open-minded to work collaboratively with other functions
  • Good communication skill, good logic and reasoning skill, problem solving mindset
  • Ability to thrive and adapt in a flat and dynamic environment
  • Reliable and predictable availability
