We believe in winning together and unlocking unique individual talent by incenting collaboration and mutual respect. At Jump, research outcomes drive more than superior risk adjusted returns. We design, develop, and deploy technologies that change our world, fund start-ups across industries, and partner with leading global research organizations and universities to solve problems.

Production Infrastructure is a global organization of Engineers who architect, build and maintain our world-class infrastructure. From colo design/implementation, to optimizing our exchange connectivity, to building world class low latent Wide Area Networks, we leverage research and automation to consistently adapt and innovate our infrastructure to scale and drive our trading and evolving business. Jump's Production Infrastructure team is responsible for the data centers, networks and supporting systems that power both Jump's global low latency environment and high-performance computing (HPC) clusters. In this role you’ll have an opportunity to work with the latest in server, network and storage technology such as high-density cabinets and liquid cooling. You’ll also exist in a capacity that will allow project ownership from start to finish.
What You'll Do:
  • Remotely manage data center infrastructure (power, cooling, hardware, cabling, tools/supplies, etc.) to provide maximum availability of services.
  • Perform requirements gathering and planning for new hardware installs (i.e. physical location, power and cooling requirements, cabling, etc.).
  • Oversee Datacenter Managed Services providers, including management of onsite technicians.
  • Develop and maintain data center standards and other documentation.
  • Interface directly with colocation providers and hardware vendors (questions, issues or new requests).
  • Work with other teams to co-ordinate data center work (installation of equipment, cable patching, auditing, etc.).
  • Perform capacity planning activities within the data center (space, cooling, power, cabling plant).
  • Evaluate industry trends and recommend changes and improvements within the Data Center and hardware space.
  • Data center and hardware troubleshooting and break-fix.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving of equipment.
  • Maintain inventory (serialized assets and consumables).
  • Occasional travel to data centers/Jump offices.
  • Other duties as assigned or needed.
Skills You’ll Need:
  • At least two years onsite Data Center experience.
  • Understanding of data center infrastructure (electrical/power, cooling, mechanicals, safety, etc.).
  • Knowledge of cabling standards/media types and installation best practices
  • Hardware repair experience (data center infra, servers, network devices, storage devices, etc.).
  • Ability to understand basic network designs and topologies.
  • Experience working at the command line of Linux systems doing basic system troubleshooting and running scripts.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of global team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extremely high personal standards for work quality.
  • Reliable and predictable availability
