Full Job Description

Flow Traders is looking for an experienced Team lead of Regulatory Compliance to join our growing team in Amsterdam. You'll be leading the regulatory compliance team, which analyses regulatory change for impact, leads/assists in regulatory implementation projects, provides advisory compliance services to the business, maintains and creates policies, responds to inquiries and audits from a number of external stakeholders and provides onboarding and regulatory-driven training. The ideal candidate exhibits experience in managing small teams and has proven experience in regulatory analysis and business advisory. What You Will Do

Lead the firm’s initiatives when it comes to:

  • Analyze existing and new regulations, provide advice on the impact and formulate clear business requirements
  • Be a first point of contact from compliance for our trading department to advise on compliance aspects
  • Participate in and contribute to business development projects
  • Engage with our regulatory stakeholders (regulators, exchanges) and responding to regulatory requests and internal/external audits
  • Provide training across the organization on compliance related topics
  • Foster compliance culture, developing and maintaining policies and controls
  • Lead a 3 person team

What You Need to Succeed

  • University degree in Law, Business Administration, or similar
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Proven experience in managing a team, strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the Dutch and European regulatory environment applicable to a market maker (Wft, IFR/IFD, MiFIR, EMIR, SSR, MAR, SFTR, etc.)
  • Proven experience in structuring regulatory frameworks
  • Experience in advising an organization on a global level
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to our trading department and cooperating closely with the other support and control functions
  • Knowledge and experience of the financial markets, financial instruments and working in an exchange trading environment is a big plus
  • Personality that thrives in a fast-paced environment and fits in an agile company culture
  • A proactive learner who is focused on the task, yet flexible and able to prioritize
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proven analytical skills and the ability to assess complex situations quickly without being affected by (time) pressure
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
