Critical Accountabilities Key Result Areas Major Activities Output Challenges and Risks Measurement of insurance provisions Prepare data input, valuation results, summary insurance provisions for recording in financial statements, in timely, accurate, complete and consistent manner. Prepare timely analysis of business performance with good quality using statutory reserving and reporting standards. Provide support to internal and external audit reviews for local reserving. Prepare accurate Actuarial data and projections that will be used in setting companys local earnings target during forecast exercises. Insurance assets, liabilities and related actuarial items consistently and fairly stated within the companys statutory and PFRS financial statements. Due consideration for reserve adequacy testing, PFRS reserves, claims reserves, provision for non-guaranteed elements & other miscellaneous items. Systems dependencies for policy data; accuracy and timeliness of accounting information Managing work plans (with IT, Accounting, Modeling, Reporting, Investments, Corporate Solutions) Profitability analysis Prepare profitability analyses on new as well as in-force business based on local statutory reporting basis. Prepare accurate analysis and trend monitoring reports to help analyze reserves movement and local earnings Prepare and coordinate with other teams for the delivery of information and reports required by local regulator Profitability of new business (monthly) Analysis of profits in PFRS profit reporting (monthly) Analyses include adequate reasoning and insight. Similar to insurance provisions Preparation of deliverables to management committees Liability modeling Adequately capture elements of total company modeling both inside or outside of CAMP (centralized actuarial modeling platform) to produce company financial projections. Accurate and efficient actuarial projection systems Financial projections, e.g. strategic plan projections, forecasting Collaboration with Modeling, Pricing, IT, Risk, and ALM teams Managing overlaps in workload (e.g., during planning period) Financial business analysis Analyze the performance of the company versus competitors performance and collect appropriate and relevant data to update existing strategies or propose new plans based on sound information to help the company improve performance and achieve set targets. Creation of a common database to properly document KPIs and other key indicators of competing companies. New strategies based on collected data in line and compliant with company standards and guidelines. Collection of relevant data and potential limitations on existing systems to apply proposed strategies.
