Peerpoint by A&O Shearman is a global legal consulting platform for lawyers who are seeking a self-directed legal career via a non-traditional route. Consulting with Peerpoint means having the backing of A&O Shearman and, with it, access to the highest quality work, clients, resources and support.

About the role
We are currently seeking capital markets lawyers with the below expertise to join Peerpoint. If you are a highly-skilled and self-driven lawyer with top tier technical experience in these areas, then we are keen to hear from you.
  • Debt capital markets transactions, including investment grade bonds, high yield bonds, MTN programmes, sovereign bonds
  • Convertible and exchangeable bonds
  • Equity capital markets transactions, including IPOs and other equity offerings and block trades
  • Liability management exercises
Successful applicants will have:
  • A right to work and reside in Australia
  • Qualified to practice in Australia unrestricted
  • A minimum of four years' post-qualification experience, ideally within a top tier law firm and a leading financial institution or corporate (directly, or as a secondee)
  • Have a willingness to engage with Peerpoint as a casual employee or via an Independent Legal Practice
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in a common law jurisdiction is preferred
  • Self-starter with a commitment to building a career as a consultant and a drive to achieve at a high level whilst working as a consultant
  • Adept at leading or working within complex multi-functional, multi-national project environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships internally and externally
  • Client service-focused, with exemplary client service ethic and commitment
  • Strong commercial/business acumen
  • Resilient, adaptable, autonomous and highly credible
  • Advanced organisational skills and diplomacy
